What types of taxes might I pay on RenX?
The taxes that apply depend on where you live or do business, the service, and your tax information. RenX supports transaction tax calculation and keeps payment records.
-
Tax on services and fees
VAT, GST, or sales tax may apply to services you purchase and to platform fees. The tax name, rate, and which services are taxable vary by jurisdiction. Service and fee tax terms
-
Tax on platform purchases
Purchases of usage credits, including top-ups, may also be subject to tax. These are separate from marketplace service payments. Review the final purchase price before confirming payment. How credits and top-ups work
You remain responsible for declaring your income and meeting your tax obligations. Tax may be due on your earnings even when it is not collected through RenX.
Where charges appear
-
Before you pay
Review the service price, currency, applicable tax, and total before confirming payment. Where tax applies, it is added to the agreed service price.
-
In your payout breakdown
Service-provider proceeds reflect platform fees, applicable tax on those fees, processing fees, and permitted adjustments. Any Flexible Fee Structure option you accept also affects your proceeds.
-
On invoices and receipts
Open the relevant deal in RenX to view available receipts and invoices. Service providers can also retain available settlement statements and platform-fee invoices.
-
In your wallet transactions
Open a wallet transaction to review its recorded amounts and tax breakdown. Marketplace service payments are separate from credits used to run AI models.

Why did my tax rate change?
RenX does not set statutory tax rates. A different tax amount can reflect a change in the rules or in the information used for your transaction.
-
Changes in local tax rules
Tax authorities may change rates or which services are taxable. Review the applicable tax shown for each new payment rather than relying on a previous charge. Find guidance for your country
-
Buyer and seller countries
The countries where the buyer and seller are based can affect which tax rules apply, including whether the service is provided across borders. How location affects tax
-
Business status
Whether each party is an individual or a business, and their applicable tax registrations, can affect tax treatment. A tax ID does not automatically make every purchase tax-free. Business tax IDs and tax treatment
-
Type of service
Different types of services can have different tax rates or exemptions, even when the buyer and seller stay the same. Tax categories for services
Do I need to do anything if tax laws change in my region?
Keep your information current and respond to any requests for updated details. Here is when you may need to act.
-
Your details change
Update your address, business status, or tax IDs in Settings > Wallet when they change. Service providers should also keep their tax registrations current.
-
Your tax obligations change
Check whether new rules require you to register, file returns, or pay tax in another jurisdiction. Updating your RenX details does not register you with a tax authority or file your returns.
-
A charge looks wrong
Check the billing details and tax breakdown for the payment. If you still believe it is incorrect, contact RenX support with the payment reference. Contact RenX support
-
Your information fails verification
If our checks identify required information as expired, invalid, or incomplete, the affected payment cannot proceed until the issue is resolved. Follow the request in RenX to update your details.
