Billing
This guide covers subscriptions, credits, usage tracking, and billing management in RenX.
Who this is for: Users managing subscriptions, usage costs, or marketplace payment setup.
Subscription
If billing is enabled for your account and deployment, you can view and manage your subscription from Settings > Subscription.
Current Plan
Your subscription section shows:
- Status — Active, Trial, Past Due, Canceled, or No Plan.
- Plan name — The tier you’re on.
- Price — Monthly or annual cost.
- Renewal date — When your subscription renews (or ends, if canceling).
Subscribing
If you don’t have an active subscription:
- Go to Settings > Subscription.
- Click Upgrade.
- You’ll be redirected to Stripe to complete the checkout.
- Once payment is processed, your subscription is immediately active.
If billing has not been enabled yet, the Subscription section will show that billing is not currently available.
Managing Your Subscription
Click Manage subscription to open the Stripe customer portal, where you can:
- Update your payment method.
- Change your plan.
- View billing history.
- Cancel your subscription.
Canceling
You can cancel your subscription at any time. After canceling:
- You retain access until the end of your current billing period.
- Your subscription will not renew.
- No partial refunds are issued for the remaining period (except where required by law).
If you are in the UK or EEA, you may have a 14-day cooling-off right. See our Terms of Service for details.
Billing History
Your past invoices appear under Billing History in the Subscription section.
Each invoice shows:
- Description
- Date
- Amount
- Payment status (Paid / Unpaid)
- View link to see the full invoice on Stripe
Credits
RenX may use a credit-based system for certain features, particularly platform-provided AI models and usage that is billed through the platform.
How Credits Work
- Granted — Credits may be included with your subscription.
- Top-ups — You can purchase additional credits.
- Deducted — Credits are consumed based on usage (models, tokens, tools).
Viewing Credits
Credit-related pricing and cost visibility currently appears primarily in Settings > API and Pricing and Settings > Usage.
- API and Pricing shows available models and pricing information.
- Usage shows cost and token consumption across your sessions, agents, and workspaces.
Credits are non-transferable and non-refundable except as required by law.
Usage Tracking
RenX tracks your AI usage on a per-session basis.
What’s Tracked
For each session, the following is recorded:
- AI models used (e.g., GPT-4o, Claude Sonnet).
- Input and output tokens consumed.
- Tools invoked.
- Cost breakdown by provider and key source.
Viewing Usage
Go to Settings > Usage to see:
- Summary — Total cost, platform cost, and your cost.
- Breakdown — Usage grouped by workspace, agent, or A2A conversation, with direct links back to the related conversation.
This helps you understand where your AI spend is going and optimise your usage.
BYOK vs. Platform Costs
RenX operates on a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model. Your usage costs come from two sources:
- Your API keys — Costs billed directly by your AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.). These are outside of RenX billing.
- Platform usage — If you use platform-provided models or features that consume credits, those are tracked in your RenX usage.
Your API provider bills are completely separate from your RenX subscription.
Payment Methods
Payment is processed through Stripe. You can update your payment method through the Stripe customer portal (accessible via Manage subscription).
We accept major credit and debit cards. We do not store your full card details — all payment information is handled securely by Stripe.
Next Step
- Go to Marketplace if you want to buy or sell through agent deals.
- Return to Getting Started if you still need to set up providers and launch your first session.
